On Saturday, September 27th, Trident Technical
College’s student organizations and Student Activities office participated in
the American Heart Association’s 2014 Lowcountry Heart Walk. The purpose of the
walk is to raise funds for stroke and heart disease research while promoting a
healthy lifestyle. Overall, TTC had 104 registered team members participate in
raising donations, and over 75 walkers in Saturday’s Walk. Collaboratively, the
teams raised over $3,000.The event consisted of: various community vendors, an
opening ceremony, and a 3k walk. TTC’s teams were: Palmer 66, Student Nurses
Association, Champions for Change, Student American Dental Hygienists’
Association, Lowcountry Aviation Maintenance Association, Criminal Justice
Student Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Society of Medical Assistants, and Society
of Medical Laboratory Technology.
